Halloween is creeping up. Time to start planning for some spookiness. While these Pumpkin Lights with Remote Control are certainly a neat idea, I can’t help think that they could be better. Sure, having a flameless light inside your jack-o’-lantern is a good thing, especially when it means you don’t have to reach into the increasingly goopy interior to turn it on. (Assuming, of course, it survives Halloween night.) I just can’t help thinking that something is missing.

Stale snacks snap back
Even with all the preservatives and salt that gets tossed about in snack foods, they still don’t fare too well when left out in the open. A stale potato chip or pretzel that has lost its snap need no longer lurk in your pantry. Put those poorly closed bags in the past and move on up to these Copco Bag Caps. Available in Round or Oval for all your snack saving needs, the bag caps snap easily onto your favorite junk foods healthy bulk items.
Reach for the silicone grips
Put those clunky oven mitts away and stick out a hand for these Trudeau Silicone Pinch Grips. Easy gripping and cool to the touch, they’re perfect for peeking under the lid of hot pans. Available in a variety of colors, the bright grabbers feature a ridged inner surface that allows for a secure grip when handling even the slipperiest of items. At five bucks a pop, it might be worth it to keep one (or two) handy.
This apple slicer makes house calls
Considering that an apple a day keeps the doctor away, it’s a good thing this apple slicer picks up the phone. The Dial-A-Slice Apple Slicer cores and slices in one simple motion. A twist of the base dials in how many blades are used, creating either eight or sixteen perfectly proportioned wedges. While the state of health care in this country may be open for debate, at least this kitchen gadget has you covered.
Party like a Jerk with this wine dispenser
Boxed wine may not be the taboo it once was, but that doesn’t mean you want to look at the packaging while drinking it. Pretty much the first thing anybody who has ever bought a box of wine has done is look inside the box. (Well, maybe the second: pouring a glass is usually the first.) Lurking inside is a silver colored bag that looks like something an astronaut would drink out of. At this point the wine in a bag can be left in the box, removed for the sake of novelty, or placed in the Vacu Vin Wine Tender
.
While Navin R. Johnson may still have a leg up on you when it comes to enjoying wine, at least you too can now entertain in style. The wine dispenser comes complete with the ability to keep your wine chilled and your guests entertained for hours. If you’ve got a big backyard with Grecian statues, s-shaped hedges and three swimming pools you’re in luck, because this wine cooler would fit right in.
Bullet Express: Not just for men
Considering the name and uh, styling, of this kitchen appliance, I’m not sure if this is designed with men or women in mind, but either way the strong and powerful machine happens to be versatile too.
