Twinkies Tell The Truth

Twinkies: "The Sweetest Comeback In The History Of Ever"

Twinkies are back and this time they mean it. It is being reported that the iconic snack cake will have a shelf life of 45 days. Hostess Brands recently went through reorganization and it appeared that the fabled snack was in trouble. But you can’t keep a good sponge cake down. Or let it expire.

Somehow, without changing much (or any) of the 37 ingredients that go into a Twinkie, the shelf life has been increased from 26 days to 45 days. The new Hostess company says they still won’t last forever, but… yeah, right.

To participate in “The Sweetest Comeback In The History Of Ever” just visit your local grocery store. Twinkies are set to reappear on July 15th.

Happy Fourth Of July!

Rice Cube Squared

Rice Cube

Rice goes with everything. The plain white grain (okay, okay; brown too) can be used in dishes originating from anywhere across the globe. But that doesn’t mean it has to stick to being mounded together into a hemisphere. In fact, for those seeking to mold rice into cubes, there exists at least two choices.

Above, the Rice Cube is a fun geometrical puzzle that comes together to make rice cubes. Below, the Kotobuki Mini Cube Rice Mold gives rice fans a similar option.

Either way, use the rice molds to transform rice into whimsical cubes that can be used for sushi or whatever else one can dream up. Or stack up as the case may be.
