Cheesy Poofs Are Happening

Frito-Lay Cheesy Poofs

While some may say we have enough salty snacks without the need to add fictional items to the store shelves, others may say, “No Kitty, my Cheesy Poofs!” Cartman, along with everybody else, will finally get their chance from August 28th through September 18th. Frito-Lay has partnered with Comedy Central to produce the iconic package from South Park. The limited edition snack will have a hefty run of 1.5-million bags, finally giving fans of show a chance to try Cheesy Poofs–assuming Cartman doesn’t get to them all first.

Today is apparently National Lollypop Day–not too bad of a choice of a thing to give its own day. However, just like “every day is Kid’s Day” some things don’t really need any special attention. So, this particular ‘Day’ goes one step further. See’s Candies, the makers of those wonderfully delicious little chocolates, is celebrating with a contest. As far as I’m concerned every press release should contain a recipe. That probably isn’t going to happen any time soon (and actually might not be too appetizing for Dow, Exxon, or say, Applebee’s releases). But at least if you are going to put out a press release with a recipe, do it right. Kings Hawaiian takes the easy way out for their sandwich pictured above and calls for “carne asada spice blend” as one of the ingredients. (By the way a telera or bollilo would be the proper bread to get, but in King’s defense they at least don’t call their creation a torta.) Sigh. Luckily BTKS knows what to do about that.
