A Molinillo is a traditional Mexican turned wood whisk. Its use is principally for the preparation of hot beverages such as hot chocolate, atole and champurrado. The molinillo is held between the palms and rotated by rubbing the palms together, this rotation creates the froth in the drink. This process is the subject of a popular children’s nursery rhyme in Mexico.
It may only be Wednesday, but I bet many of you are already thinking about the weekend. Well, at least until March, if you want Jack and Cola, Jack and Ginger or Jack and Diet Cola, you are just going to have to settle for the stuff in aluminum cans or glass bottles. Or, mix your own! Sometimes a pot of coffee isn’t enough. Problem is, coffee drinkers don’t really know that until they have hit the last drop.
