It’s hot. Time to cool down. How? By eating ice, of course. Shaved ice. While just chewing ice cubes is certainly an option, the Back to Basics Manual Ice Shaver Model SIT10821 might offer a bit more flavor. It may be hot, and the heat may affect the brain, but shaved ice takes flavor on a bit more easily than just pouring syrup over a cube. Eatensil Is A Utensil For Everything

Just Eat everything utensil, the Eatensil.

If you’re in London (and surrounding areas) you can use the internet to eat. Well, to order to eat, that is. Of course they do everything backwards (and on the wrong side of the road) back there, so instead of calling it ‘take-out’ they say ‘takeaway’. And Just-Eat is the internet-y way of ordering.

But what to do when the fish and chips arrive without the little wooden fork? Well, in a clever marketing bit, Just-Eat has created the Swiss Army knife of utensils, the Eatensil. Packed into the monstrosity is a pizza cutter, a wooden chip fork, chopsticks, a knife, a fork and a spoon. And for good measure a bottle opener is housed directly in the body. It doesn’t look like the Eatensil is in actual production, but I’m guessing that even over there, the pizza does arrive pre-sliced.

Jars may be pretty convenient for food storage and transportation, but when it comes time to actually get into a jar, they can be pretty darn inconvenient! While the clear glass may help one to see what’s oh-so-close on the inside, it does little good when the lid is screwed on too tight. Luckily, physics has the answer: give the lid a handle to increase the leverage.

Electric can openers, despite their ease-of-use, take up valuable counter space; however, for many, they are stuck with them as hand-held options can be hard to use. Would You Ventu?

The Ventu Strainer Bowl, a Quirky project.

It doesn’t exist yet, but it could with your help. The Ventu Strainer Bowl, a Quirky project is a mash-up between a colander and a serving bowl. For whatever reason, colanders have always enjoyed a reputation as something to avoid in the kitchen–it is just too tempting to try to strain pasta and whatnot with either the lid or a fork. Capitalizing (maybe) on this idea is a project that needs your support.

If 1800 people commit to purchasing one, it will exist. While it looks like it would be an elegant solution to a common kitchen shortcut, it appears that it may have some limitations, mainly the concept of it being a wet serving device one would bring to the table. Get around that though with something to rest it in and you got yourself something there. In any event it’s a good idea that only needs a little help.
